William Ransom Wood Centennial Bridge

Festival Fairbanks, Inc. worked hand-in-hand with local businesses, community members, the City of Fairbanks, the Fairbanks North Star Borough, and the State of Alaska, to construct a new walking bridge and bike path.

The versatile overpass connects the south bank of the Chena River adjacent to the State Court House with the north bank near the Doyon, Ltd. Headquarters.

In addition to being a memorial to our rich heritage, the Centennial Bridge is both attractive and practical. It binds the community more closely together for recreation and utility services as well as greatly reduces the hazards to pedestrians and cyclists.

The Fairbanks Centennial Bridge was dedicated as the William Ransom Wood Centennial Bridge on September 5, 2003.
